Uber Works with Trump, LYFT Funds the ACLU – Any Questions?

Pretty sure it’s time to #DeleteUber

In the past two days airports have been filled with protests of the Trump Regime’s Muslim Ban that is detaining refugees and even permanent residents stranded at international airports like JFK in New York, and O’Hare in Chicago. However, the resistance to Donald Trump’s xenophobic policies isn’t just happening in the streets and the courtrooms. It’s happening between rival rideshare apps and Lyft may have just been crowned the winner.

Over the last few week’s Uber CEO, Travis Kalanick’s decision to join Trump’s economic advisory team has sparked a backlash inside and outside the corporation, leading to calls to boycott and the rise of the #DeleteUber hashtag on social media.

When news broke that Muslim refugees were being denied entry into the US, Taxi drivers in New York organized a work stoppage at JFK airport in protest.

At the same time, Uber cut its surge pricing, a move that many viewed as breaking the strike. As knowledge of Uber’s actions spread so did #DeleteUber and the number of riders pledging to boycott the company.

As it’s competitor became more embroiled in controversy, Lyft took a different stand: it pledged $1 Million in donations to the civil liberties legal organization, the ACLU, which took Donald Trump to court and won a nationwide injunction against the Muslim Ban.

As more people #deleteuber, they’re signing the pledge to let the corporation know that working with Trump is unacceptable.
