Mijente member and creator of Gran Varones— a storytelling project about Latino & Afro Latino Gay, Trans and Queer men–Louie Ortiz-Fonseca has launched a fierce social media campaign to “eclipse Despacito (featuring Justin Bieber)” from the top spot of the music charts and urging people

In a facebook live video, Ortiz-Fonseca explains that even though Cardi B’s single Bodak Yellow has only been out for a month, it has already climbed up to #3 on the charts, which is a pretty impressive climb.

He goes on to say that “we have to get this Afro-Latina to #1 because she is the manifestation of all the people in the hood who ever dreamed and were told that those dreams were never gonna come true.”

Louis is sure people can make this happen. Taylor Swift won’t stand in his way.  He says people can stream Cardi B. Stream Bodak Yellow in English or Spanish (!!!) on youtube, spotify, tidal, or itunes. They all count! Only Black Latinx Mujer Magic will save us from Despacito and Justin Bieber.
